What are Area Youth Forums?
There are six Neighbourhood Youth Forums in Halton, set up to feed into Area Panels of the borough council. Each of the forums hold regular meetings where topics of local importance for young people and their community are debated and council services consultation undertaken.

They work with a wide range of community groups and organisations and encourage young peoples involvement in local democracy. The Area Youth Forums also:

Provide an opportunity to discuss and be consulted on issues that affect young people in their area.
Provide a voice for young people in Halton.
Young people on Area Youth Forums are all 11-18 years old.
Provide an opportunity to elect Halton MYP

You can take the opportunity to come along to 'Democracy Training Weekends' or the 'UKYP Training Day' being held for young people from across the borough, so you can nominate who you want to join your Borough Yough Forum and who you want to go forward as candidates for the UK Young People elections. This forum will give you a say, direct to the Councillors and bosses of the Council who say where money will be spent on things. To be involved you will need to be available to attend one of the Local Democracy Training Weekends.

Dates:

10th November - 12th November
17th November - 19th November
Training Day - 26th November
