CharlotteHiya, I’m Dena and I’m 16. I go to riverside college and I’m studying health and social care. I want to carry on to university and either be a social worker or a youth worker, I think all my work on youth cabinet is giving me extra experience and knowledge in youth work, and helping young people show they have a voice. I want to be member of youth parliament so that I can show that young people do have a voice and what we say is worth listening to.  We should have a fair hearing and not be dismissed.  Young people in Halton face lots of problems for example nothing to do, nowhere to go and dark streets with no lighting making it dangerous to walk home alone.  We are targeted by the police, community support officers, and adults. This year I’m aiming to improve sexual health services, I want to work with them to make them friendlier places and more appealing so that young people are not afraid to use them. I also want to work on confidence and self esteem, I will do this by working with youth workers and set up sessions for vulnerable young people and help them with their confidence and self esteem. While I can listen I am not afraid to stand up and speak out about something I feel is an injustice.  I totally believe that I can make a difference for young people in Halton.  I am motivated, approachable and I’m willing to put all my efforts into making sure you get your voices heard.  Elect me and be sure that I will work my hardest for every one of you in getting your voices heard.  Elect me and let me help make Halton a better place to be.
