Hi my name is Rachael and I’m 16 years old.  I attend the Grange Comprehensive School in Runcorn and I’m in year 11.  In my spare time I play football and go to Palacefields youth club.  I support a local football team and I love shopping.  I think I should stand for UKYP because I want to change the perception of young people and show the people that we’re not all ASBO hoodies like they think we are.  This could be done by holding fun days and doing voluntary work for the community.  We could invite the local press to come along to print positive stories of young people not just the negative stories you see so much of young people getting into trouble.

I am also interested in getting young peoples voices heard as I don’t believe they are, because when we are trying to get our voices heard we are called nuisances or troublemakers.  I’d also like to improve the quality of sexual health clinics as they are not very young people friendly, which I believe is important because the percentage of teenage pregnancies in Halton has increased.

Finally I’d like to ask for you to vote for me, I will be dedicated to making positive changes, I will work hard to get all young peoples voices heard.  I feel that I would be the best candidate for the job and I would do my best to represent my peers.
