CharlotteHi I am Stevie; I am 14 years old and go to the Heath Specialist Technology College.
If elected, I would arrange meetings with youth workers to discuss problems in local areas and how these can be prevented, hopefully. As an attender of the Halton Lodge community centre, I feel that the sessions can be improved, not that there’s anything wrong with them. I would allocate a slot to a confidence and self esteem building session, as this is compulsory to today’s society. This will be available in teambuilding sessions as well as one on one sessions.
Also, sexual health talks will be available in one on one sessions, giving a sense of privacy as well as confidence. If elected I would try and help reduce the rate of teenage pregnancies as well as sexually transmitted infections. If somebody doesn’t take a stand, these problems will continue to affect young people today.
I may look like one of the types who don’t give a jack and who is just another youth but I am willing to change and commit myself to the youth and the community of Halton because together we can all stand as one proud region.
At one point I was slipping down the road of the bad youth but I took a step back and took a look, which is when I realised that I don’t need to do this, neither does anybody else, so if I could talk to the youth then I could help them change for the better.
